This home has undergone a major renovation and their original furniture just didn’t sit quite right with the new flooring, walls and drapes. In the living room we kept the glorious aubergine chesterfield sofa and stylish coffee table, however the occasional chairs and ottoman required new upholstery to update their look.
The challenge was to find fabrics that would modernise and harmonise with the existing furniture pieces.
The solution was found using two Designers Guild textural fabrics on the chairs with lower stud detail to emphasise the line of the chair. To complement and bring in colour, pattern and the link between chesterfield and coffee table, a Warwick fabric in a classic floral was the perfect balance.
The family room’s existing media unit was unsuitable to accommodate the plethora of cables. Studio 28 designed a media unit that accommodated not only all the cables behind a false wall but also the Bose system base speaker.
Adding finishing touches to this room included a large patchwork rug made from vintage carpets, a two-tier side table and a Kartell Battery operated table lamp (no power point available) that gives a delightful sparkle in the evening.
