Each year, I save the most inspiring images to my desktop's inspiration folder. These images, along with my interior design books, help me create beautiful, practical spaces for clients. To wrap up the year, I'm sharing some of these images that came across my desk this year and my thoughts on how they can transform your home.
A bed with a headboard brings a stylish touch to any bedroom. Without a headboard, the room feels unfinished. The bed and headboard together create an eye-catching focal point in the room, making it feel cosy and complete.
Instead of wallpapering or painting just one wall, consider doing all the walls for a more immersive and cohesive look. This way, the room feels more complete and stylish.
Here’s a great idea if you are a bit tired of your white kitchen and want to shuzush it up. White and yellow (or your favourite colour) are a winning combination to charge it up.
Swap roller blinds for curtains or sheers on large windows. Tracks can wrap around walls, and if you get lots of daylight, covering just part of the window works perfectly too. Curtains and sheers add privacy and light control. Plus they soften a room's appearance and provide insulation and texture.
Less is more. Declutter and maximise space with the right storage. Use furniture that fits your collections perfectly. You can never have too much storage.
Simplicity enhances dining and living experiences.
Quality ingredients and easy recipes make meals enjoyable. A tidy bedroom and living room fosters peace. Embrace simplicity to improve your living.
Switch your recessed lights to spotlights for a softer glow. Too many down lights can be harsh on the eyes. Lighting should create light and shadow play. Highlighting task areas or areas that you love like artwork or a coffee table.
Ensure you have plenty of super comfy seating.
Whether you're with family or friends, everyone can relax and enjoy their time together. Perfect for long chats, movie nights, or just hanging out, good seating makes sure you have a great time without feeling tired.
Look after your pet and treat them to their own stylish pad.
Picture windows brighten your home with natural light and a gorgeous view. They are perfect for showcasing scenery and creating a comfy nook.

Here’s a treat…
If your a lover of Tiramisu (like me!) here's the best recipe ever. I've been making Tiramisu at Christmas for quite a few years now. (Check the date on the Vogue entertaining cover) It is simply the best, no alcohol, just good strong coffee (Laffare Gusto). Often served with fresh cherries macerated in Kirsch or Brandy. This image shows a double recipe, because my family enjoy it a tad too much.
And I do not to waste those egg whites...
I hope you have an amazing Christmas and a wonderful break with your friends and family. Enjoy the festivities and see you next year!
